I believe our stories are more than the things that happened to us. They are also about what we learned, how we survived, what we carried forward, what we chose to leave behind, and who we became along the way.
My journey began in Jamaica and continued in Canada, taking me through motherhood, relationships, work, loss, faith, difficult transitions, healing, and renewal.
Through my writing, I share those experiences honestly — not because hardship is the whole of my story, but because every chapter helped shape the woman I am today.
I am still writing. Still growing. Still becoming. And still rising.

Colonel's Ridge, Jamaica
My story begins in Jamaica — born in Buff Bay, Portland, and raised in Colonel's Ridge, Clarendon, a community filled with people, personalities, lessons, laughter, discipline, faith, traditions, and memories that stayed with me long after I left.
Canada
My journey eventually took me from Jamaica to Canada. It opened an entirely different chapter. Canada became part of my story without erasing Jamaica. Today, both places are woven into who I am.
Why the Red Phoenix?
The Red Phoenix represents rising after the fire — not untouched by what happened, but transformed by what was learned through it. For me, the phoenix is not my identity replacing who I am. It symbolizes the journey, the fire, the strength, and the renewal that helped carry me forward. Heather remains at the centre of the story.
